New web site (and blogging)
Now that we've converted the Santa Cruz location to the new curriculum, we've had a chance to update the website - "With Blogging". This is a new venture for us, and for now I've decided that all comments are to be moderated. We've done this for a variety of reasons but ultimately its an experiment - and depending on how things go, we might open it up a little. Unfortunately, now this means there will be a delay of up to several hours until any comments are posted - and I apologize for any frustration this might cause. Please be patient as we tweak a few things here and there.
I expect this will be a venue for conversations about life skills education, of course, but also about the logistics and challenges of running a human services business. Its a tough thing to get right (whatever "right" is), and it seems like every week there's some new problem that just doesn't have a simple solution. I think it would be great if we could share some of these experiences, and its very "web 2.0" to do so with a blog. (Its also very hard to hold a conversation with most people by starting "Re-training staff for process change can be more difficult than initial hiring, don't you think? How have you managed those transitions?")
